Peak SSE
Privacy notice
Who we are
Peak Systems and Safety Engineering Limited ("Peak SSE") is a company registered in the UK. It runs peaksse.com and is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions about it go to hello@peaksse.com.
What we collect
The only personal data we ask for is your email address, when you sign up for course updates. We don't ask for your name, employer or phone number. Our email service, Kit, also records when you signed up and whether you open our emails and click their links.
Why we use it
We use it to email you when a course opens for enrolment and when new guides and videos are published. Our legal basis is your consent. You give it by signing up and then confirming through the email Kit sends you, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing. We never sell your email address or share it with anyone else for their marketing.
Who handles it for us
Kit stores our email list and sends our emails. Kit is based in the United States, so your email address is held outside the UK. Kit's own privacy policy explains how it protects your data.
How long we keep it
We keep it until you unsubscribe. If you'd like it deleted completely, email us and we'll remove it.
Visiting the site
We don't set any cookies, and the site has no advertising trackers. To see which pages are read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and visits without cookies and without tracking individual visitors. As with any website, your browser shares your IP address with the services that load the page:
- Netlify hosts the site.
- Cloudflare supplies the page-view counter.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces.
- YouTube plays the videos in our guides. They use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which limits what YouTube records before you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube's privacy policy applies.
Links to YouTube and LinkedIn take you to those sites, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to how we use it or ask us to restrict it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email us and we'll reply within one month. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you don't need to give a reason.
Complaints
Please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Changes to this notice
If anything changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
